The Rainbow Couch is an online counselling and psychotherapy service that is easily accessible from the privacy of your own home. It offers 3 options of online sessions: via Skype with webcam, via Skype/phone without webcam, or via Skype (typed) chat. It sets the threshold of therapy at a level that you feel comfortable with and allows you to move up a level if and when youre ready. It welcomes and respects cultural diversity and provides tolerant, inclusive and accepting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and heterosexual therapy. I am Ronete Cohen MA and I am an openly bisexual woman who offers affirmative LGBT therapy. I am an experienced therapist who has worked extensively with both adults and adolescents. In therapy sessions I use a flexible combination of counselling techniques according to your unique needs as an individual at any given moment in time. I make a point of never forgetting that even within the identities that seem to define us we are still as unique and complex as fingerprints. Whether youre in or out of the closet, I respect your choices and beliefs, never forcing you in a direction that you are not ready for. I don’t have pre-set ideas about how you should live your life: I help you make the right choices for you.
My LGBT writing rsum includes:

Since 2006: Zij aan Zij Magazines psychological advice column.
Various magazine articles (Diva and Zij aan Zij), e.g. about lesbian/bisexual BDSM community and about porn made for and by lesbians/bisexuals, aiming to increase awareness and acceptance within the lesbian community.
A scientific article (The Case Against Reorientation Treatment published as a free resource on the internet) debunking the pseudo scientific claims of the pro-reorientation/reparative therapy lobby.
